Description:  LCTC is looking for a team player to serve as an automotive collision and repair instructor. The right candidate will be passionate and knowledgeable about training students in auto collision repair, parts installation, paint, and the latest technology in auto collision repair. I-Car certification is required in welding, refinish, and non structural repair, with ongoing I-CAR training expected. I-CAR Platinum Certification is preferred. Responsibilities include: facilitate instruction in the automotive collision & repair program, manage classroom and shop/lab to ensure a productive and safe learning environment, demonstrate advanced techniques in collision repair using the I-Car standards, build strong relationships with industry and post-secondary partners to ensure clear opportunities and pathways for students, operate and maintain a working automotive collision shop environment, including but not limited to: inventory, ordering/purchasing of supplies, tools and equipment along with the maintenance and service of required equipment. In addition, this position will work to coordinate and guide students in activities related to SkillsUSA. Additionally, the successful applicant must be able to accomplish one of the following: Verify a bachelor’s degree or higher in an area appropriate for the subject area being taught and four thousand (4,000) hours of DESE-approved, related occupational experience obtained within the most recent ten (10) years. Verify an associate’s degree in an area appropriate for the subject area being taught and five thousand (5,000) hours of DESE-approved, related occupational experience obtained within the most recent ten (10) years. Verify six thousand (6,000) hours of related occupational experience obtained within the most recent ten (10) years. Qualifications Must hold current I-Car certification to meet the requirement for program level accreditation. Must possess or have the qualifications to obtain and maintain proper Missouri teaching certificate for the area/content to which he or she has been assigned. Complete original transcript of college hours must be placed on file in the superintendent’s office before the beginning of the school year for which the teacher has been hired. Any additional hours of credit earned while the teacher is under contract should also be filed in the same manner. Must be able to demonstrate the ability to collaborate with colleagues, analyze student data, and make necessary instructional interventions for student growth that are based on data and best practices in education.
