Description:  Mexico Public Schools is now accepting applications for Process Coordinator positions for the 2023-2024 school year. QUALIFICATIONS: Shall meet all state certification requirements in special education Bachelor of Science in special education or praxis certification Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable REPORTS TO: Special Education Director DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: General Purpose: To create a flexible program and environment favorable to learning and personal growth. To establish effective rapport with pupils and teachers. To motivate pupils to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for further participation in the total school program, in accordance with each pupil’s ability. To assist teachers in identifying evidence-based strategies to target learning needs through grade-level teaming/MTSS teams. To establish good relationships with parents and other staff members. To understand and follow the required special education process and paperwork, assist in managing timelines to maintain compliance within the district. To stay current with special education laws and regulations along with best practices. Main Job Task and Responsibilities: Oversee the IEP Process: Monitor IEP’s for compliance through periodic file reviews, Manage SISK12 IEP Establishes a system of student evaluation within the guidelines prescribed in the State of Missouri law or adopted by the Board of Education. Administers standardized assessments, including individual academic assessments, to determine academic functioning levels if applicable Interprets the results of assessments and develop a written report synthesizing the information Participates and contributes to meeting(s) held to review information, determine eligibility and formulate program options including transition plans when applicable Attends school and district/state professional meetings when contracted Monitor special education files for compliance with State and Federal regulations Implement district policies and procedures to ensure compliance with Board policies, district, state, and federal laws and guidance Serve as LEA at IEP to assure compliance in situations where significant program resources/issues are anticipated Performs any additional task so designated by the Director of Special Education. To utilize Missouri Learning Standards within the development of goals and programming TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Annual contract for school year and Extended School Year, if applicable, in accordance with the provisions of Board of Education policy on evaluation of certified staff.
