Description:  PRIMARY TASKS & MAJOR ACTIVITIES Assist English as a Second Language (ESL) teacher(s) with the care of individual students.  Willingness and ability to travel between buidlings.  Assist ESL teacher(s) with the preparation of instruction/learning resources and implementation of instructional strategies.  Participate as an effective team member across settings in a manner that promotes positive collaboration for student success.  Demonstrate respect for students, staff, and parents in all situations.Strictly adhere to confidentiality requirements regarding all matters pertaining to district employees, students, parents, parent communications, and/or classroom activities. Fulfill the specific responsibilities as related to the specific assignments.Responsibilities will be determined based upon the unique needs of the students in the classroom(s).Assist the classroom teacher, supervise students, perform routine and non-instructional tasks as assigned/needed.Follow each student's instructional plan as determined by the educational team.  EDUCATIONAL/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED Education:  Substitute certificate through the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. It will be the applicant's responsibility to obtain and maintain substitute certificate. Skills:  Willingness and ability to travel between buidlings.  Ability to work with students who exhibit high educational and, at times behavioral, needs and support.  Ability to work as a collaborative team member and follow specific directions as outlined by the supervising teacher and building/district administrator(s).  Ability to change when change is needed. Experience:  Training and/or experience related to:  proficiency in another language is not required but is preferred. Experience working in an educational (or similar) setting is preferred.  Willingness to understand and support the District's Comprehensive School Improvement Plan. Must successfully pass a background check and drug test that are satisfactory to the Board of Education.
